Spinal Treatments

Balloon Kyphoplasty: A pathway to the vertebra is created through a small incision and a small balloon is inserted and inflated to correct deformities caused by vertebral compression fractures. The balloon is deflated and removed. The cavity created by the inflated balloon is filled with bone cement to form an internal cast that holds the vertebra in place.

Vertebroplasty: Using imaging guidance, medical-grade bone cement is injected into the spine to prevent further collapse of the spine caused by vertebral compression fractures. This prevents height loss and spine curvature commonly seen as a result of osteoporosis.

Lumbar Epidural Steroid Injections: For patients with back and/or radicular pain, steroids are injected into the lower lumbar region of the back to alleviate pain.
