Open-Heart Recovery
St. Mary’s offers the Tri-State’s only state-of-the-art specialty area for patients who have undergone open-heart surgery.
After the procedure, patients move to the open-heart recovery unit, where they stay for approximately 24 hours. Cardiac patients receive quality care from registered nurses who received special training in open-heart recovery. Staff members continuously monitor patients to evaluate the success of surgery and to quickly diagnose and treat complications that may occur as a result of surgery.
