Progressive Care Unit

Nursing staff members in the Progressive Care Unit unit specialize in providing care to patients who have just had open-heart surgery.

Patients who have a cardiovascular procedure using drug eluting stents or a coronary bypass with or without a cardiac catheterization may be monitored in Progressive Care Unit. Both surgical and medical cardiac patients are followed by cardiovascular case managers who coordinate care with clinical guidelines.
