St. Mary's Breast Center is a state-of-the-art imaging facility, and also offers the community a true comprehensive breast health center designed to diagnose and treat diseases of the breast.
The vision of the Breast Center at St. Mary’s Medical Center is to bring home the need and make available to every woman the peace of mind of knowing she is doing everything she can to safeguard herself and maintain her health. A key element of that is to recognize that screening mammograms SAVE LIVES! While today there is no known way to prevent breast cancer, we do know that if caught early enough, most women survive to lead long, healthy lives.
And, routine monthly self-breast exams, annual physical exams by your physician, accompanied with regular screening mammograms are in combination most effective ways to achieve the earliest detection.
Today, nearly 50% of the women in our area who SHOULD get a mammogram are not. We are committed to fixing that.
Dr. James H. Morgan, III is the director of the St. Mary's Breast Center.
