H.E.A.R.T. Champions
The H.E.A.R.T. Program screens children for the three major risk factors for heart disease - obesity, high blood pressure and high cholesterol
All services are completely free of charge. We encourage all parents in Cabell County to take advantage of these valuable health services.
Children who have elevated blood pressure, high cholesterol and a body mass index greater that the 95th percentile will have the opportunity to participate in the "H.E.A.R.T. Champions" program, which is a 12-week medically supervised nutrition and exercise program. H.E.A.R.T.Champions will offer consultation with and monitoring by a dietitian; nutrition education sessions; and group exercise physicologist and nurse. This program is provided free of charge.
