St. Mary’s Names House CIO/IT Director
(HUNTINGTON)—St. Mary’s Medical Center announced today that Mike House has been named its new Chief Information Officer/Information Technology Director.
House was previously the CIO at Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, N.C. Prior to that, he was the Senior Director/CIO at Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth Hitchcock Keene in Keene, N.H. House also has 20 years of experience in the defense sector and another six years of experience working in the commercial sector, primarily in software and systems development management.
“St. Mary’s presents me with an opportunity to grow personally and professionally as it is significantly larger and more complex than the two community hospitals I worked in previously,” House said.
“Mike House has a proven track record with over 30 years of experience in information technology and we are confident that he will thrive at St. Mary’s Medical Center,” said Angie Swearingen, vice president of finance and chief financial officer at St. Mary’s. “Given the importance of information systems as it becomes increasingly integrated in patient care, we are very fortunate to have a leader like Mike to advocate for changes that will advance our systems for more enhanced patient quality and safety initiatives.”
As CIO/IT Director, House will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Information Systems and Communications departments. He will also represent St. Mary’s in various technical forums and develop and maintain the Strategic Information Systems Plan for the medical center.
House has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Virginia.
