Our team of experts provides both surgical and non-surgical treatment options paired with comprehensive education to alleviate your pain and get you well again.
St. Mary's Regional Spine Center is a national leader in the treatment of patients with spine conditions. The center was the first in the nation to be recognized by the Joint Commission for disease-specific care cetification in spine surger.

Pain Center
At the Pain Relief Specialists, physicians and staff work one-on-one with each patient to design and implement a personalized pain management program. New patients begin with an initial evaluation at which time pertinent medical records, X-rays, and other test results are reviewed. The patient is then examined by a physician consultant for an in-depth assessment, followed by development and implementation of a comprehensive pain relief program.
Patients must be referred by a physician to the Pain Relief Center.
Stroke Center
St. Mary's was the first hospital in West Virginia and the Tri-State region to achieve certification as a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations in 2004, and the second hospital in West Virginia to achieve Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification. Neurophysiology Lab
The Neurophysiology Lab, located in St. Mary's Neurophysiology and Regional Sleep Center, offers a wide range of diagnostic testing for neurological conditions. This specialty lab is staffed by skilled technicians who use state-of-the-art equipment to offer the following tests:
- Electroencephalogram (EEG)
- Electromyography (EMG)
- Somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEP)
- Otoacoustic emission (OAE)
- Intraoperative monitoring
- Continuous EEG monitoring
The neurophysiology department is able to monitor the brain minute by minute with equipment specifically designed for and dedicated to continuous electroencephalographic (CEEG) monitoring. This technology allows physicians and staff to view a patient’s brain activity for extended periods of time to detect abnormalities in function before irreversible damage occurs. It also assists physicians in making timely decisions about treatment and provides a means of evaluating the effectiveness of treatments.
Regional Sleep Center
Sleep disorders can have a lasting effect on your health and lead to many problems, including heart conditions and high blood pressure. The sleep medicine team at St. Mary’s is specially trained to identify and treat all types of sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea, narcolepsy and insomnia. The center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Rehabilitation Services
The team of professionals at St. Mary’s Rehabilitation Services works to restore function and quality of life to those affected by illness or injury. Licensed staff members provide occupational, physical and speech therapy for a number of conditions and injuries, including stroke, neurological disorders and balance disorders.
