Marshall Health Network-St. Mary’s Medical Center (SMMC) has named Sister Danuta Przybylek, SAC, as vice president of mission integration.

In this role, Przybylek will ensure the philosophy, mission and values of the Pallottine Missionary Sisters and SMMC remain central to all aspects of the organization’s health ministry. The position includes participation in policy development, strategic direction, communications and relationships with religious, civic and church communities.

“Sister Danuta brings a deep understanding of our Catholic identity and a lifelong commitment to service,” said Angie Swearingen, president, SMMC. “Her leadership will help ensure that the mission and values that have guided St. Mary’s for generations continue to shape how we care for our patients, support our employees and serve our community.”

A member of the Pallottine Missionary Sisters since 1991, Przybylek has extensive experience in faith-based leadership and service. She currently serves as a board member of St. Vincent Pallotti High School in Laurel, Maryland, and as board chair of both the Pallotti Foundation of Huntington and the Pallotti Foundation of Buckhannon.

Przybylek earned a bachelor’s degree in catechesis from the Academy of Theology in Elk/Warsaw, Poland, and a master’s degree in theology from Cardinal Wyszynski University in Warsaw. She also completed postgraduate studies in anthropology, psychology and Christian pedagogy in Krakow, Poland. She recently completed two units of the Clinical Pastoral Education program at SMMC and is currently participating in the National Catholic Bioethics Center’s chaplaincy program focused on the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services.

Przybylek will help guide and strengthen the mission-centered culture that has been a cornerstone of St. Mary’s Medical Center’s Catholic health ministry.
