Applications are now being accepted for the St. Mary’s Health Professions Academy scheduled for Thursday, May 25 and Friday, May 26 at St. Mary’s Center for Education, 2853 Fifth Ave., Huntington.
The Academy provides selected high school students from the Tri-State a firsthand, behind-the-scenes look at health care by shadowing RNs, clinical laboratory scientists, respiratory therapists and medical imaging faculty and observing their responsibilities in both health care settings and in potential disasters.
The academy is open to 10th- and 11th-grade students with a GPA of 2.5 or greater who are interested in a health care career. Applications must be received by May 1 and are available at www.st-marys.org/hpa.
