Marshall Health Network honors DEI Rising Star Award winners

Marshall Health Network (MHN) recently honored employees who contribute to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) efforts and who promote culture and belonging across the system. DEI Rising Star Award winners were recognized at the inaugural ceremony March 8, 2024, at St. Mary’s Center for Education.

“It was such an honor to recognize these outstanding individuals,” said Nina Wallace, manager of diversity, equity and inclusion for MHN. “Together, we can create a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected and empowered to reach their full potential. As Steven Anderson says, ‘Alone we are smart, but together we are brilliant.’”

The DEI Rising Star Award for Leadership recognizes individuals who enhance existing DEI practices in leadership positions and set a positive example. They demonstrate the dedication and enthusiasm to advance DEI and inspire others to foster a workplace environment of integrity, acceptance, compassion and humility. The five winners are:

  • Tanya Morton, RN, house nursing supervisor, Cabell Huntington Hospital
  • Amanda Clonch, RN, Cabell Huntington Hospital
  • Angela Roberts, assistant director of food services, St. Mary’s Medical Center
  • Jamie Saber, RN, nurse manager, St. Mary’s Medical Center
  • Joseph Meadows, coder analyst, Marshall Health Network

The DEI Rising Star Award for Advocacy recognizes individuals who offer support to those in need. They go above and beyond to ensure that everyone's needs are addressed by helping individuals express their views and understand their rights. The winner is Heather Hamlin, RN, HIMG Pulmonary.
